Glass Artists
Cape Breton Island’s highland beauty, the best in Nova Scotia, is world famous.
Resident glass artisan Brent Harding chooses fused glass to interpret the landscapes he sees during his exploration of the island’s beaches, cliffs, waterfronts and forests.
Not being satisfied in limiting himself to landscapes, Brent also creates in the abstract, challenging himself to constantly expand his repertoire of technique, color and shape.

Brent works with fused glass, mixing a variety of colors and types together to create land- and seascape based upon images he finds along the shores of Cape Breton Island.
By "sandwiching" together layers of glass and metal, Brent composes striking translucent arrangements which are then fired in his kiln and, after firing, framed in metal for display.
Brent's eye is keen, and his pieces often evoke a "...that's just down the road..." response from viewers.
